1/27/25 Word of the day: Surreal

I had messaged my surgeon about my concerns that tests were being scheduled to scan all parts of my body outside of my head and neck.

For the second time (I still haven't met her) she called me personally. She called to discuss the results of the test from Friday and to answer any and all questions I had.

She addressed the reasoning behind no testing above the neck - BUT if I was having symptoms such as headaches or dizziness or any new and persistent symptoms to let them know immediately. Also, some of the imaging being completed visualized lymph nodes and pathways above the collarbone. So if something was seen there, then they would do further testing.

But now, that was not a concern.
Another small victory.

I remember one of the first calls I had with a nurse navigator - she told me to celebrate any and all small wins. After the results of the CT scan and now speaking with the surgeon, I felt like I should buy a pony...I didn't...but I thought about it. The timing just didn't seem quite right, HA!

Later that day I spoke with the genetic counselor on the phone and after school stopped at the lab for some blood work.

It is just all so surreal.
