3/28 Discharge dance

So much better.
SO much better than the previous overnight in the hospital.

The nurses were attentive. On top of their game. Ready with Tylenol (it's all I took).
Aware of my sister's needs.
Just better.

I also felt SO MUCH better.
I was injected with a numbing medication that has the potential to last up to 72 hours.
This medication, Exapril, was my newest bestie in my categories of besties.

I was able to walk into the bathroom on my own.
Get in and out of bed (mainly) on my own.
So many of the frustrations I felt from the first surgery that had weighed me down did not exist this time around.

I was still super grateful for my sis, who helped keep me grounded in my euphoria of feeling good.
I even let her sleep on the job as I knew she needed it.

I did, however, wake her up after my second trip to the bathroom when I decided to clean my bedside tray at 4am. So then I made her walk the hall with me.

She loves me and didn't trust me to walk alone...so she came with...half asleep, but she came with.

At 6:30am the Starbucks kiosk opened and she ran to get there, leaving at 6:27.

The surgeon came to see me at 6:30am - of course right after Sara left!
Everything looked good, I was good to be discharged on his end.

I was SO excited for coffeeeeeee - it had been over 24 hours!

I had also wanted cortege cheese for breakfast but apparently that was a lunch only item.
TY Starbucks for also filling that need!

Coffee, cottage cheese, cheese danish...I was good to go.

But first, I needed to hold the 4 conferences I had scheduled for Logan - opps!

They must have thought what an interesting background I chose 🤣

To entertain ourselves until I was officially discharged (what the heck were we waiting for anyway??) we played the "I make a face, you make a sound" game.

I performed an impromptu discharge dance while housing an egg salad sandwich.

 And finally, we were OUT!
