Who showered for the first time all by herself since February 27 at 5 AM?!
This girl!

Who was able to reach up and finally squeegee the shower?

Who could put on her own Band-Aids, over her healing drain sites??

This girl!!!

Who drove for the first time in 3 weeks(!!!) last night??

That's right......THIS GIRL!!!!

Celebrating the small(ish) stuff 🙌

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today my two college besties Jules and Trish came to pick me up for some quality time, a walk, and to get food.
I kinda sound like a pet 😂
And yes, I have a lot of "besties". Steve always says you can only have one "best"; however, I do...in each category. For example:
*Highschool bestie: Chriso
*Gettysburg bestie(s): Jules & Trish > they are a duo, a package deal, so basically counts as 1
*Ithaca bestie: Liz
*Drexel bestie:  Beavies
*Temple besties (if we are going this route) = work bestie(s): Mickey, Jonell & Ewa (also                    packaged deal B1G2 so basically 1)
Anyways, I digress....pic time!
Soo many more but pulled up some goodies!
I have known these two since 2000.
Holy moly the times we have had through college, break ups, marriages, babies, moves, etc.
They have helped shape who I am as a person and a mom (thanks for having babies first!).
They set the bar high for my other friendships.
I know NO matter what these two will be there for me and my family in an instant, no questions asked.
(Ok well there will definitely be questions but not the kind that stops them from coming to me)
I truly don't have enough words to describe what these two mean to me, but I think from the decades of pics it's pretty evident and I don't have to 💗❤️😍
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The girls arrive.
"Let me show you my boobs in person!" ...closes the garage door because ya know no poor unsuspecting neighbor passing by needs that jolt of reality in the morning 🤣

Boob show complete we head to Memorial Park to walk and talk.

Hunger sets in.
I had already suggested lunch at Honey Grow to these two HG virgins.
We order enough food for ourselves and to share of course - all delish.

While sitting there, however, Trish looks at me and says, "Stop touching yourself!"
I had absent-mindedly been rubbing the area over my left expander and down into my armpit as it felt full.
I turned to Jules - "Woah yeah, I can see the swelling through your hoodie. It didn't look like that when we saw them earlier."

Damit it.

I knew what this meant - I had to call the office, which inevitably there was nothing they would be able to do, so due to swelling and the possibility of a clot, they would send me to the ER.

Off to the ER we went.
We dropped Trish off to bring in my Instacart order for the gathering with my work besties later that night, and Jules took me to SLUHN Upper Bucks.

Text to Ewa and Jonell:
"Change in plans potentially - I have to go to the ER - don't panic. I haven't told anyone else. I have increasing swelling on my left side so my friend Jules is taking me." 🫥

I had been hoping to be in and out.
7 hours later....finally discharged.

Negative CAT scan for clot. Blood work, normal. EKG, normal.
Plastics doc (not my surgeon but from the same group) was there and was dictating care to ER doc but did not come see me.

Initially, Jules was sad she was going to be able to spend only a couple hours with me....I'm not sure she is ever going to come visit me for a walk and a meal again 😂

Jk...Jk
She took over as my manager, and we had a system to beat the cycling blood pressure cuff at its own game.

She counted the number of times I peed while there (4? 5?) without having anything to drink so that she could report to Trish how she, the all-time peer, hadn't peed once!!

She kept me calm and entertained, and honestly, those 7 hours felt like 2.

She and Trish were not going to let me go alone...and for that I am ever so grateful.
