3/21 POD #22> See me and put hands on me

I was insistent on seeing a DOCTOR today from my plastics and reconstruction team. It didn't even have to be MY surgeon.

Last night, after getting home from the hospital:

I called and left a message at my plastic surgeon's office.

I sent an email to a contact person I had at that office.

I sent a MyChart message to a plastic and reconstruction team member.

Lo and behold, I got a call back.

"I want to see a doctor. A surgeon. I have not seen a surgeon since my surgery. The PA's and

NP's are great and it is nothing against them however I was in the ER for 7 hours and no one would touch me.  I think I deserve to see a doctor. I want him to literally see me and put hands on me."

This is coming from the person who was dropping F bombs out of awkwardness when I had to be assessed and get pics pre-mastectomy.

"Ok, I understand. Pause. Sam has openings today and can see you."

"Sam is not a doctor."

"No, she is a PA."

"Great, I will be seeing a doctor. I will go anywhere and see any of them. Is there even a doctor available at the same time where he can even just pop in?"

We settled on 11 o’clock where Dr. Lam, the same Doc that was oncall in the hospital last night, would stop in to see me.

I made sure to let Dr. Lam know that had he just seen me in the ER the night prior he would have saved me $20 and a trip to/from Bethlehem.

He didn't really have a response.

The boys received gift cards to Best Buy yesterday that were burning a hole in their pockets.

So I took them so they could pick stuff out.

They spent their money wisely, including picking out lego sets.

I came home with a new robot vacuum because dammit I deserve it.

And we shall call him Ragazzo.

While boyfriend got to cleaning, the boys and I built our respective lego sets 💝
