I got measured for lymphedema garments this evening.
It is anticipated that I will accumulate fluid from my armpit down to my fingers once the lymph nodes are all removed from my axillary region on the right side. So we need baseline measurements.
Perhaps because I was going to a physical therapy clinic - and physical therapists are compassionate, kind, give you 1:1 care, are all encompassing awesome individuals (no, I am NOT biased....just very strongly opionated based on facts and nothing but facts).
I didn't.
It was fine.
I was late.
She was then late.
I got my measurements, she demonstrated some manual lymph drainage techniques as I am already accumulating fluid on the L side > because why not.
I was all to excited to demonstrate my shoulder and arm range of motion I had been working on so I could impress her.
I also couldn't wait to use big PT words so she could ask me...
...."Palpate? What do you do for a living?
"Oh me? Oh haha. I did say 'palpate', did I? Silly me."
...blushing & fanning myself now...
"I'm a physical therapist too🤓 "
Yup, this is what my life has come down to. Trying to impress the PT that I too, am a PT.
